Artist Statement
Bringing remembrance of the true beauty of our world in our own backyard and beyond is an important part of why I am compelled to photograph for others and for myself. Too often, we ignore this loveliness in our whirlwind daily life, becoming too busy to remember how many possibilities there are on this great Earth. I am thrilled when I am able capture the splendor of a simple moment or bring a new place from around the world home for others to experience. If I am able to evoke that wonder and awe in others- even for a moment- than my photography is a success.
My favorite photo subjects are abstracts, flowers, animals, and landscapes. Color and light are the essential ingredients in my images, though sometimes I just like to play with textures and themes. I love to travel and explore new places, far and near, and will constantly seek out new routes and locations. Nothing feeds my soul more than seeing something for the first time.
The world is out there waiting for any of us to discover.
